About Kimahri
Kimahri is a spirited and dynamic performer of Middle
Eastern dance, also known as bellydance, raks sharqi or dans oriental. She has been a dancer for over 20 years, bringing a strong background of ballet, jazz, modern and Latin training to bellydance. Kimahri is known for her charismatic stage presence and unique blend of Middle Eastern dance styles.
Kimahri's recent Middle Eastern dance performance credits include winning the 2007 East Coast Classic Bellydance Competition (Grand Champion category), joining a select group of bellydancers to perform at the "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" exhibit at Chicago's Field Museum, winning the 2005 Golden Navel Bellydance Competition in Chicago, being featured on WFLD-TV FOX Chicago, and having feature stories and bellydance photos in the Chicago Tribune and Daily Herald.
As head of Shimmy Chicago LLC and KB Entertainment, Kimahri produces Middle Eastern dance events and bellydance workshops, student shows and the Midwest Bellydance Challenge competition. Kimahri travels in the region as a guest artist and bellydance workshop presenter, and continues her dance education with master teachers from the Middle East, Europe and the US.
